The Fulcrum Journey thus far
I met Emily Duffett in early 2016 at the N.E.A.D.S conference on accessible education. The National Educational Association of Disabled Students has done great work for students and awareness for years and Emily is a board member. I learned a lot at that conference and through working with accessibility services at Mount Saint Vincent University . Emily and I met again in July of 2016 at training for the Access ability program through the Sobey School of business in partnership with Saint Mary's University. It was at this training after, over coffee that the idea for fulcrum began to form. We continued to work on it through the fall with the support of the Access Ability program. They gave us great training, resources and support. An especial shout out to the co ordinations Leslie Gates and Monique Boudreau for their unwavering support and belief in us. We were also greatly aided by Paul Gerin of the Canada Business network; who continues to be an amazing mentor. Michael Sanderson of Access Ability also gave us fantastic training and advice through out.We also were provided great advice and support from the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Network (EDN) who believed in us from the very start! Our company was registered in January of 2017 and we look forward to serving the HRM business community and beyond for many years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped us get here including our friends and Family and a special thanks to our lawyer Keith Lehwald. With out all of these amazing people we would not be here now!
